The choke cam seems to be operating ok, however I did not check to see if the cam had come loose from the choke shaft. Then it started leaking oil out of the muffler. I took the muffler off, and the combustion chamber is very black with oil.

Oct 25, 2016 The white smoke is the engine burning off all the excess oil. The fix - drain the excessive oil, and idle the engine until the smoke clears. Depending on your mower type, draining the oil can be a pain in the ass. This may take minutes or so. I got this Briggs and Stratton oil extractor, on Amazon, makes life soooo easy.
